At home I was falling all the time, hurting myself. I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t even stand up on my own. I couldn’t go on living like that. Something had to change.
And it did, as soon as I was admitted to Deptford Center. They welcomed me with open arms, and within 24 hours the therapy department had put together a rehabilitation plan specifically designed for me. The therapists themselves were wonderful—encouraging me and giving me the confidence to get better and stronger.
You know, the doctors told me I’d never walk again, but the Deptford Center team didn’t listen to the doctors. They got me back on my own two feet. I’m walking again, and it’s the greatest feeling in the world.
